My Friend Snoopy Toy

Vtg SNOOPY 1958 1966 UNITED FEATURE SYNDICATE HASBRO INDUSTRIES 14” Throws Ball – $80. Find it on eBay (affiliate links).

Sometimes, I like to try and give sellers the benefit of the doubt. How are you supposed to know what this is a “My Friend Snoopy Toy” without the original instructions and packaging? What info do we have to search with? “Snoopy Throws Ball” turns up four listings, all the same thing. One of them has the original box. Five-seconds later, we know exactly what this is. Not hours or days, just a minute of time to know what you’re selling and how best to describe it to potential customers. How do buyers find something if sellers don’t give them the info they need?

My Friend Snoopy Toy was made in 1979 by Romper Room. It comes with a large plastic Snoopy doll with an arm made to toss a ball. You set up a little bowling alley with the help of ten bowling pins and a plastic mat. Two throwing balls were included with the original toy.

How much is a My Friend Snoopy Toy worth?

Snoopy on his own is easy enough to find. However, finding all the other pieces, that gets tricky. If a set includes the original box, then it might have all those various pieces. It’s a lot to keep track of for kids! If I found a loose Snoopy, I’d maybe buy it if it was in very good to mint condition. Anything less than near perfection just isn’t worth it without all the other pieces. He still has value, but not nearly as much. Snoopy is still an impressive and large piece for display. For a complete and in the box My Friend Snoopy Toy, I would expect to pay $20-40 depending on condition. Without all the pieces, I would pay around $10 for Snoopy in very good to mint condition with a working arm.

A note on prices

When reviewing these articles, be sure to note the date. Market prices fluctuate with availability and interest in a subject. Putting a value on items can be nuanced and comes from the perspective of buying to enjoy in a collection. I also tend to be conservative with valuations to account for the ups and downs in market values.
