Wouldn’t you love to be drifting down the canals of Venice? Save some money for that vacation by passing on this over-priced collectible. The seller thinks it’s a Snoopy tapestry from 1965. However, it’s just a Snoopy cotton rug made by Frank T. Greco Inc. from the early 1990’s. Between the color scheme, the subject matter and the later style characters, this is most definitely not from 1965. Frank T. Greco Inc wasn’t even incorporated until 1973. Oh, the info we can find via a quick Google Search!
How much is a Snoopy Tapestry Rug worth?
A variety of styles were made featuring the Peanuts gang silk-screen printed on these basic cotton rugs. Color and condition are key with these Snoopy Tapestry Rugs. Though easy enough to throw in the wash to clean, that may damage the silk-screened design. Hand-washing is recommended in cold water. Finding them in decent condition isn’t difficult in today’s market. For most designs, I would expect to pay around $15-30 in very good to mint condition. For something a little out of the ordinary like this scene, I would put about a $10 premium on it. Hanging it on the wall would be a great way to display it, without damaging it from foot traffic.
