Snoopy WWII Red Baron Ceramic Mug Vintage Peanuts 1960’s Great Condition – $150. Find it on eBay (affiliate link).
Truly, this listing is a rarity! Is it a hard-to-find Snoopy mug? No! It’s a seller who’s jumped to the 1960’s conclusion without any evidence to support their claim. Originally, this 1990’s Flying Ace Snoopy mug by Applause would have had a sticker on the bottom to give the seller more details. You can see that sticker on this matching Woodstock mug. Plus, mistaking the Flying Ace for the Red Baron is common. Either way, he’s from the first World War, not the second!
How do I know what era this mug is? I distinctly remember going crazy in a mall when I was a kid finding just the perfect one for my collection. Mom must have been feeling generous that day! I started collecting in 1990, so this is definitely after that time period. How is a random eBay seller supposed to know my mall habits of the 1990’s? Let’s hope they don’t! Since this mug may be hard to research, I would suggest going with a different strategy. Not jumping to conclusions and misleading your clientele is a much better option. The seller’s variety of decent photos is a much better way for them to sell this item than incorrect dates. How the seller came up with a price with no data points, I’ll never know!
How much is a Flying Ace Snoopy Mug by Applause worth?
The shape of this mug is re-gaining popularity on the market. You can find Snoopy figural mugs online for around $15-25. Vintage Woodstock Applause mugs are available in the secondary market. A Flying Ace Snoopy seems harder to find at the time of writing of this article. How much of a premium should you pay if you really, really want that pilot gear on Snoopy? That’s up to you to decide, but I think $150 is much too steep for a mug that needs careful hand-washing with my butterfingers. I would expect to pay around $15-30 for a vintage Flying Ace Snoopy mug from Applause. (affiliate links)
