Vintage Snoopy Charles Schulz peanuts rubber doormat sweet home dog house RARE – $195. Find it on eBay (affiliate link).
I remember getting this Snoopy doormat for Christmas in the 1990’s from my Grandma. I think it was Grandma. While I may be sketchy on the giver, I certainly remember the timeframe. Also, if memory serves, this was a catalog item, like a Miles Kimball or something. Remember those days before internet shopping? If you can confirm any of these details, let me know.
When I received this, I had no house, so no doors that needed matting. My Snoopy Doormat has remained pristine in it’s original cellophane, backed by cardboard. It’s lonely and awaiting photography, forever trapped in its collector cocoon. This beautiful Snoopy Doormat would be a welcome addition to my front door. It’s worn, used and not in pristine collectible condition, but still full of life. However, at $200, this mat would have to last me the rest of my life. I could get a new doormat every year for ten years at this price! My current rubber doormat only cost $25 and has lasted five years, with lots more to come. Sure, it’s not Snoopy, but for something that needs to take a kicking plus Wisconsin winters, it works just fine. Could I even bear to wipe my shoes on Snoopy? Probably not.
How much is a Snoopy Doormat worth?
I want a Snoopy Doormat to use, but how much to pay? In mint condition, I could see paying $30-50 for a Snoopy Doormat. Used, under $30 depending on how well it’s held up over the years. I just have a hard time justifying using a $200 piece of rubber outside in the elements just because it has Snoopy on it. Especially since he’d be so easy to steal!
