Hallmark’s series of plaques and plaquettes from the 1970’s into the early 1980’s has always been a favorite Peanuts collectible of mine. Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang philosophize on life. Each plaque is a reminder of one’s personal outlook on life or someone special in one’s life. In this plaquette, Joe Cool reminds everyone “Some day I must give up this gay, mad, carefree existence”, though we all know he still hasn’t! Plaquettes are generally a laminate sheet over a piece of paper on a cardboard backer. Plaques are usually a wooden plaque with a paper design attached to the front. Plaquettes tend to be from the 1970’s, as the wood plaques became more popular into the 1980’s.
How much is a Snoopy Joe Cool Hallmark Plaquette worth?
As much as I love Peanuts plaquettes, I’m not about to break the bank for them! They are usually sold for around $5-$20 in very good to mint condition. Price depends on condition, rarity and design.
