Is “Never removed from Box” a strong selling point? I don’t think so. While I respect the seller’s attention to keeping the Snoopy Humidifier pristine, it leaves a lot of open questions. Are those stickers on the side of the doghouse still attached and in good condition? Is everything in good working order? Was the box ever dropped and the bottom is all broken? Is the chimney cap still present? For two-hundred dollars, I want to know EXACTLY what I’m buying. Plus, the joy of this piece is a giant figural Snoopy on his doghouse. I do not want to display this in an old cardboard box.
Does it matter if this old electrical item is still working? Time can take its toll, even when a Snoopy Humidifier is protected by cardboard! I have a Snoopy Humidifier and I’ve never used it, nor do I ever plan to. I bought it as a collectible, not as a working item. If it works, bonus! I consider the electrical component when buying an item. Will a non-working collectible hurt its novelty? If the answer is yes, then take that into consideration when buying an item and stick to a retail price rather than a collectible price. If the item is priced higher because it’s working and you won’t be using it, then consider if it’s worth the extra. If you want a working item, then pay the extra and enjoy it! If you are using an old electrical item, be sure to make sure it’s in proper working order before using!
Is that masking tape on Snoopy’s nose going to leave a mark? While not philosophical, it’s a major consideration with this Snoopy Humidifier. Old masking tape dries out. It leaves a horrible mess behind that’s difficult to impossible to remove when it’s on plastic. Even if you remove the residue, the plastic may have leached the chemicals and discolor. Snoopy looks pristine otherwise. Let’s hope he hasn’t succumbed to the scourge of masking tape!

How much should someone pay for a Snoopy Cool Mist Vaporizer Humidifier? I bought mine about 15 years ago, mint, with the box for just $50. I thought that was a high price, but worth it for a hard to find item. It’s a tricky item to price because of the electrical component. Since it’s such an out-of-date electrical item, I think most people would only display it. There are cheaper, better humidifiers available 40 years later that would make more sense to use. As a decor item, I would expect to pay around $70-$100 in mint condition with the box. In used condition, I would stay under $40.
