The Peanuts Magnetic Pals display is a fun piece of vintage Peanuts merchandise from around 1969 or 1970. Made by Simon Simple and manufactured by Magnetic Novelties, this complete store display originally held a collection of Peanuts character magnets. The display itself is designed like an envelope that wraps around a magnetic backing, allowing stores to show off the magnets on their shelves. Characters included on the display feature Linus, Lucy, Schroeder, Snoopy, Woodstock, and Charlie Brown in a variety of scenes.
This particular display is especially interesting because the magnets have remained in their original positions for decades. Removing the magnets reveals discoloration on the background, so keeping everything together helps preserve the way it looked when it was first sold. Each magnet has a simple magnetic backing and the usual Peanuts copyright information. While individual magnets are not extremely valuable on their own, a complete original display like this offers a great look at how Peanuts collectibles were marketed in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
