I paid $80 shipped for this Peanuts Mystery Box, Version 2, from Stylin’ Boxes. Was it worth it? Retail price of all the items was about $100 and most of the items are available from the brand Buckle Down. However, what you “earn” over retail, you may lose out with choice.
However, if I wasn’t doing this video for Peanuts fans to make good collecting choices, I wouldn’t have given this box a second look based on Stylin’ Boxes’ advertisements. Stylin’ Boxes chose to use generative AI to create their social media advertisements. Their computer generated art is a slap in the face of all the artists that have worked on Peanuts, the first and foremost being Charles Schulz. That is reason enough NOT to buy it as it is most definitely not “by real fans” as the Stylin’ Boxes website states.
Mystery Box Thoughts
Much like the last Peanuts Mystery Box from Stylin’ Boxes, this one is not very special in its offerings. While I personally find this one a little bit better, the last box is probably more “unique.” Most of this is already available online from Buckle Down or similar items from Aurora plushes. Nothing really feels unique or special about these products. While they are quality, licensed products, I feel having the choice of style and design would be a better way to spend your money.
A few of the items also come across as possible “Seconds” or not top quality. Woodstock’s luxurious feathers? Fun, but also appears to be unfinished, uneven yarn lengths that probably missed being trimmed. The Snoopy dog toy? Was it a cheap plushies that was easy to include in the box, or a batch of dog toys that missed out the squeaker? I worry about giving it to my dog, Molly, as there seems to be smaller pieces that are easy to rip off this Snoopy and possibly ingest.
