If you follow my channel, you already know I’m completely obsessed with wooden puzzles. The absolute gold standard in my collection has always been Liberty Puzzles. While they are definitely an investment, they’re worth every penny for puzzle enthusiasts thanks to their real wood construction, vibrant colors, and amazingly thoughtful “whimsy” cut pieces designed by actual human artists. Naturally, when I saw a new brand of Peanuts wooden puzzles popping up on Amazon from a brand called Woodlux, I had to buy one to see how it stacks up against Liberty.

Putting the Woodlux puzzle together was an interesting comparison. While it’s significantly cheaper and comes with wall-hanging accessories, it’s actually made of MDF rather than real wood. The piece shapes felt a bit repetitive, and the laser cutting process left a black soot residue on my fingers during assembly. Plus, compared to the razor-sharp image quality and smooth feel of a Liberty puzzle, the Woodlux print quality felt a bit fuzzy with dark, prominent cut lines. If you’re looking for an affordable, true-wood alternative to Liberty without the high price tag, I actually prefer Aquarius wooden puzzles, which feature fantastic piece shapes, real wood, and vibrant designs for a fraction of the cost.

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for when it comes to wooden puzzles. Woodlux gets the job done if you’re on a budget, but Liberty Puzzles remains unmatched in craft, quality, and sheer joy to build. Whether you decide to splash out on a luxury board or try a budget-friendly option like Aquarius, there’s no wrong way to enjoy a good puzzle session.
