Deep Dive into Snoopy Toy Catalog from Determined Productions
Vintage Peanuts catalogs are some of the most interesting finds for collectors because they offer a look at products that are often difficult to find today. A Determined Productions toy catalog recently caught my attention because the cover featured learning dolls, but the inside revealed a wide variety of Snoopy and Peanuts collectibles from the 1980s. Catalogs like this are useful not only for discovering new items, but also for helping determine when certain toys and plushes were released.
This 1985 catalog features many familiar Determined Productions products, including Snoopy and Belle plushes, Flying Ace figures, baby items, Learn to Dress Rag Dolls, Peanuts Gang dolls, Brush With Me Snoopy, Snoopy plush radios, Snoopy telephones, and Fun Figures. One of the most surprising parts of the catalog was the back cover, which showed Snoopy and Belle wearing outfits that were unfamiliar even after years of collecting. The wedding and country-themed outfits featured unique designs, including a green outfit for Snoopy and a floral dress for Belle. These outfits do not appear in the usual Snoopy’s Wardrobe listings, leaving more questions about whether they were widely released or produced in limited quantities.
Using a Peanuts collector guide helped confirm that some of the products shown in the catalog, including Brush With Me Snoopy and the Snoopy telephone, date back to 1985. Comparing the catalog images with existing outfit checklists showed that these mystery Snoopy and Belle outfits are still a puzzle waiting to be solved. Vintage catalogs like this one are valuable resources for collectors because they reveal products that may not appear often in collections or online listings. They provide a snapshot of what was available at the time and can uncover new collecting mysteries decades later.
