Ah, gumballs! A favorite treat of childhood. You knew you were either a really good kid or just really good at nagging if Mom bought you a gumball. What a bonus to get your own personal dispenser. Furthermore, you could make money off the other family members and guests with your vast array of colorful candies. Ah, childhood dreams! Find out where I found this 1987 Snoopy Gumball Machine Coin Bank from Superior Toy and Manufacturing Inc. in our full Patreon post.
What I Love – Let’s go back to my childhood. From a young age, I had a thing for gumball machines. I don’t know what it was. I didn’t even really like gum all that much. As a kid, I did eventually get my own little plastic gumball machine. It probably still has some of the original gumballs in it.
However, my dreams grew to this Snoopy Gumball Machine Coin Bank. I remember seeing him on a high shelf at an antique mall as a child. At the time, I think they wanted $25 for him in maybe 1992-94? This was early in my hobby when I was really, really young and could just throw around $25 on collectibles because I was barely a teenager. I passed on that gumball machine. So sad.
As luck would have it, they had it the next time we visited that antique store. This was good because I had really, really wanted it. You’ve got Snoopy and Woodstock in their Joe Cool outfits. Plus, Snoopy’s glasses flipped up. How cool is that! Finally, it was still in the box. Totally worth it at $25. What a gem!
