Snoopy Fun Figures to Paint

Tiny, all-white Snoopy figurine? Is it a rare prototype? A factory mishap? A special release? No, he’s just ready-to-paint! Craft House produced a kit with four Snoopy figurines to paint in the early 1980’s. However, if fine-detailed painting wasn’t your thing, Determined Productions sold the same figurines all ready for display.

Deep Dive into Snoopy Fun Figures to Paint

The Snoopy Fun Figures You Paint Craft Set is a fun Peanuts collectible from the 1980s that was made by Craft House. The boxed set includes four white PVC Snoopy figures, paint, a paintbrush, painting instructions, and a color guide on the back of the package. Although the figures are marked with a 1958 copyright date on the bottom, that date does not reflect when the craft set was produced. Originally sold for just $1.98 at Pay’n Save, this vintage craft kit is an interesting example of licensed Peanuts merchandise from the era.

One of the most useful things to know about this set is that the unpainted white PVC figures sometimes appear for sale on the secondary market as supposed prototypes. In reality, they are simply the unpainted figures that came with this craft kit. The set includes Scuba Diver Snoopy, Baseball Snoopy, Sailor Snoopy, and Roller Skating Snoopy wearing headphones. There is also another Snoopy Fun Figures set that features a different group of characters, making both versions worth keeping an eye out for if you enjoy collecting vintage Snoopy items.

These Snoopy Fun Figures were produced around the same time as matching PVC figurines made by Determined Productions, which released a much larger assortment that also included characters like Spike and Belle. Another helpful tip for collectors is that poorly painted versions of these figures are usually not rare variants. They are often figures that were originally painted as part of the craft set. Knowing the history behind the Snoopy Fun Figures makes it easier to identify authentic pieces and avoid paying premium prices for common collectibles that are sometimes misunderstood.
