Snoopy Foreign Legionnaire Pajama Bag

Here’s “Beau” Snoopy Pajama Bag of the Foreign Legion marching across the desert. Find out where to find this Snoopy Foreign Legionnaire Pajama Bag on the full Patreon article.

What I Love – There’s not much to collect when it comes to Snoopy French Foreign Legionnaire items. There’s this, the Simon Simple pinback button, and a Kaboom comic book. If there’s more, I can’t remember and neither did the Google image search. You know me, I love something peculiar to add to a collection. While not too difficult to find this 1969 Pajama bag by Simon Simple, it will certainly be a stand-out from the 1000’s of Flying Aces and Joe Cools you can collect.

I wonder where Schulz got the inspiration to do a Snoopy French Foreign Legionnaire. He’s obviously evoking the movie/book Beau Geste in this comic strip series. Snoopy first appeared wearing a foreign legionnaire hat in August 1965, a full year before the 1966 Beau Geste movie would be released. Perhaps both were in response to increased interest in the Foreign Legion? I don’t know, I wasn’t around then. If anyone has thoughts on this, let me know.
