We all need to do our part by washing our hands, but maybe find some different soap than this set. These Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Lucy Peanuts Avon Soaps are still wrapped up in their Styrofoam from the 1970’s. Finding Avon products like this in the box can be tricky, but most likely the only way you’re going to find these delicate soaps.
I recently took a look at the Avon Peanuts Gang Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Lucy soap set, a fun vintage collectible from 1970. The set comes in its original box with the saying “Happiness Is a Clean Shining Face” on the front. Inside the classic Styrofoam packaging are three character-shaped soaps featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Lucy. These Avon Peanuts soaps are a great example of how Peanuts characters appeared on everyday items beyond toys and decorations.
The Charlie Brown soap is bright yellow and includes details like his famous zigzag shirt pattern. Snoopy has a simple and cute design, while Lucy stands out in bright pink with details like the ruffles on her collar and lines on the front of her dress. The soaps do show some signs of age, including a white buildup on the surface, but I decided to leave them as they are rather than risk damaging the original details. Even after all these years, the soaps still have a light Avon scent that is a fun reminder of their original purpose.
When collecting vintage Avon Peanuts collectibles, the original box can make a big difference. Many collectors prefer finding items with their packaging because it helps with identification and evaluation. This Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Lucy soap set is an interesting piece of Peanuts history that combines character design, Avon collectibles, and the everyday items people used in their homes during the 1970s.
