Deep Dive into Giant Belle Plush Doll
Big Peanuts plush are always exciting finds, and this collection features my giant Snoopy, Belle, and Spike plushes. In this video, I focus on giant Belle, one of the harder-to-find Determined Productions plush characters. I share how I found each of these oversized beagles, including Snoopy from a local antique store after spotting him on Craigslist, Spike after years of sharing my Peanuts collection online, and Belle from an eBay listing that was mistakenly labeled as a smaller 30-inch plush. Belle ended up being about 4 feet tall, and the shipping alone was around $170, which is something collectors should keep in mind when looking for giant Peanuts plush.
I compare giant Belle to the smaller versions of the character, including the 10-inch, 15-inch, and 25-inch Belle plushes, along with a tiny Belle clip-on. One of the most interesting things about this giant Belle is that she came with official shoes and pantaloons, details I had not realized were part of the larger plush. I also compare her clothing with the smaller Belle accessories, including the lingerie set, and look at the tags to confirm that these pieces were made specifically for the dolls. Giant Belle is known to have at least two outfits, Mrs. Claus and Easter Beagle, although those accessories are much harder to find.
This giant Belle plush was released around 1981 and is a fun example of how Peanuts characters expanded beyond the comic strip into large collectible plush toys. I also talk about the Determined Productions tags, why many older plushes have the 1968 copyright date, and how Spike’s tag connects to both the plush release history and his debut in the Peanuts comic strip. While Belle has some fading on her ribbon and dress, she is still a special addition to my Peanuts collection. Finding giant Peanuts plush like Belle, Snoopy, and Spike is not always easy, but the hunt is part of what makes collecting so much fun.
