Deep Dive into Peanuts Latch Hook Kits

In this video, I’m taking a look at vintage Peanuts latch hook rugs and kits from my collection. Latch hook pieces are usually created from kits, and many of the ones you find today are unfinished. I recently acquired a completed Snoopy latch hook rug that needed some deep cleaning, and I’ll share how I clean these vintage pieces while taking a closer look at the details that make each one unique. From the finished backs to the different yarn colors, there is a lot to appreciate in these handmade Peanuts collectibles.

We’ll explore several vintage latch hook kits, including designs from Molina featuring Snoopy, Lucy, Charlie Brown, Franklin, Peppermint Patty, and Woodstock. Some of these kits date back to the 1970s and early 1980s, with designs like Snoopy golfing, Snoopy with falling snow, and Snoopy and Woodstock. I also take a look at a 1990s latch hook rug with more detailed shading and color variation, showing how the style changed over time. One of my favorite finds is a Lucy latch hook, since Snoopy designs are usually much easier to find.

After looking through the collection, I head to my bathroom cleaning area to show some of the Peanuts latch hook rugs waiting for attention. There are designs featuring Football Snoopy, Candy Cane Snoopy, Snoopy Come Home, Flying Ace Snoopy, Roller Skating Snoopy, and Surfing Snoopy. I also share my cleaning process using Retro Wash, a hand-washing product that helps refresh these vintage yarn pieces while making sure the colors do not run. Vintage Peanuts latch hook rugs are a fun part of collecting because each one has its own history, from the original kit to the person who carefully created it.
