Deep Dive into McDonald’s Camp Snoopy Cups & Glasses
The Camp Snoopy glasses from McDonald’s are a familiar collectible for many Peanuts fans. Released in 1983 to celebrate the opening of Knott’s Camp Snoopy in California, the set included five glasses featuring Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, and Woodstock. These glasses were widely distributed, and you can still find them today at antique stores, flea markets, and online marketplaces.
While many collectors know about the Camp Snoopy glasses, there are also plastic cups that were released in certain markets. I recently took a closer look at these cups and discovered that there are actually different versions. At first glance, the cups look almost identical, but small details set them apart. One version has a white seam between the two halves of the image on the back, while another has a smoother transition that blends the artwork together. There are also differences in details like Woodstock’s tent color, the color of his head, and even the logos on the cups.
I didn’t know these variations existed until I found two different sets, and I thought it was a fun discovery to share with fellow Peanuts collectors. Collecting isn’t about having every possible variation unless that is what makes you happy. Your collection should be filled with the items you enjoy, whether that means collecting the glasses, the cups, both versions, or just your favorite Peanuts characters. Sometimes the smallest differences are what make collecting so interesting.
