Mystery Snoopy Plush from the Schulz Museum

Everyone overlooked this Snoopy at the Charles Schulz Museum sale during Beaglefest. However, I was intrigued. I managed to get him for $50, which worried me that I might be spending too much on this mystery. However, I had a reasonable idea of what he might be since he looked exactly like the Mr. T and Boy George dolls. If only I could hunt down some answers!

Research

After a lot of research, I believe he is a possible sample or prototype of the Boy George Snoopy that was released by Determined Productions in 1984. While this yellow jacket is a fun look for Snoopy, the details on the jacket would be difficult to achieve in manufacturing. This might have led to them changing the design, or moving to a more current to 1984 look of Boy George’s.

The most conclusive piece of evidence was the jacket worn by Boy George on Letterman in 1983.

The jacket on Letterman is definitely another take on the clothing worn in the Culture Club music video, “I’ll Tumble 4 Ya”, that Boy George was promoting in the Letterman clip.
