As long as I have to put all these Christmas Stockings away, you might as well come along for the boxing! There’s five decades of Christmas memories in this box, so you’re sure to enjoy something from Peanuts Christmas past.
It’s time to pack away the Christmas decorations, and that means taking a look at some of my Peanuts Christmas stockings before they go back into storage. In this Snoopy collection video, I go through a variety of vintage and collectible Peanuts stockings, starting with a fun and kitschy Christmas stocking from Simon Simple. The collection includes classic Snoopy stockings from the 1980s, tiny Determined Productions stockings made for hanging on the Christmas tree, and several designs featuring Snoopy, Woodstock, and other Peanuts characters. There are also some harder-to-find stockings, including a beautiful blue Woodstock design, musical stockings, and a fabric cutout panel that was meant to be sewn and customized.
As I sort through the stockings, I look at the different companies and styles that produced Peanuts holiday items over the years. There are stockings from Determined Productions, Hallmark, Gemmy, Kurt Adler, and others, with designs ranging from traditional knitted looks to more playful 1990s styles. I also show some unique finds, including a Hallmark stocking hanger still in the original box, a later Hallmark stocking with lights in the wreath, cut-and-sew stockings with extra embellishments, and a Spencer Gifts stocking featuring Snoopy and the Peanuts gang. Some pieces show their age, including yellowing, wear, or missing parts, but they are still fun examples of Peanuts Christmas collectibles.
Peanuts Christmas stockings are a great reminder of how many different holiday items have been made over the years. From Determined Productions designs to later Snoopy stockings by companies like Adler, there are so many variations for collectors to discover. I also share a few stockings that are available for other collectors and talk about why some of these vintage Christmas decorations bring back memories of past holiday seasons.
