I know, you’re thinking that’s some student’s drawing and totally not worth your time looking inside. I thought so, too. Give it a chance, poke around and bask in this vintage Texas Wesleyan College Yearbook from 1958 on our Patreon page and find out where I found it.
What I Love – It’s surprises, again! Just when you think the universe of vintage Peanuts goodies has nothing left to strum your heart strings, up pops something amazing. The cover looks like a fairly decent rendition of the Peanuts gang by some artistic student. Close enough for most people, but we can detect the little ways it’s not quite right.
And then we look inside and think… come on guys! Not cool to just steal like that. Let’s just flip ahead, shall we?
Maureen Wigham! You actually got permission from Charles Schulz to make this happen? It’s no wonder they made you Miss Rambler. You can have your pick of the boys for the Sadie Hawkins dance. Front row seats for South Pacific. The Journalism Department Club sure is lucky to have you!
You can experience this entire yearbook at a Texas History website without spending $40. There’s Peanuts comics littered throughout the book, even the lovely old ads at the end. I don’t know any of these people, and yet, I still feel some nostalgia.
