If you have been following my Peanuts collecting adventures, you might remember my excitement over finding the official Determined Productions card for Snoopy’s racing driver outfit. It was proof that the silver jumpsuit was indeed a legitimate, licensed piece of Snoopy memorabilia! Shortly after, I ran across a surprisingly similar outfit on Spike that turned out to be from the S.S. Happiness Crew line—another series produced by Determined Productions where they recycled designs across different plush lines. That left me wondering if an 18-inch version of Snoopy’s race car outfit was ever actually made, or if it was strictly reserved for other characters.

Well, the search took a unexpected turn recently when I spotted what looked like the missing 18-inch race car outfit in the corner of an online auction listing. I ended up winning the listing and receiving the outfit on a Snoopy doll, but a closer look revealed a few surprises. First, there was no standard Snoopy tag where you would normally expect to find one. Instead, a tag on the accompanying plush confirmed it was another S.S. Happiness Crew release. Upon inspecting the chest area closely, I could even faintly make out the letters where “Jack” (the Jack Rabbit character from the series) had been printed on the fabric and partially rubbed off over time!

While this particular 18-inch jumpsuit isn’t technically a Snoopy-branded release, it is still a fantastic vintage piece that looks identical on display. Vintage Peanuts hunting is full of these oddities, crossover items, and recycled manufacturer designs, which is all part of the fun.
