Deluxe Peanuts Playset

Deep Dive into Deluxe Peanuts Playset

The Peanuts Deluxe Play Set is a fun example of the larger play sets produced by Determined Productions in the late 1960s or early 1970s. After looking at the Snoopy camping set, this set offers a similar style of jointed Peanuts figures with a larger play environment. This particular set includes the psychiatrist booth, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Lucy, along with the original box. While the box has some shipping damage, the set itself is still an interesting piece of Peanuts toy history.

One of the most recognizable parts of the set is Lucy’s psychiatrist booth, complete with the “The Doctor Is In” sign. The original sign was missing, so a replacement was 3D printed to match the artwork on the box. Some of the small booth pieces also needed help, with replacement posts created using a 3D printer to complete the display. The 3D-printed parts are not identical to the originals, but they help make the play set easier to display and enjoy.

The jointed figures included with the Peanuts Deluxe Play Set were also sold separately, including Snoopy and Lucy dolls with removable clothing and movable parts. Collectors need to be careful with these older figures, especially the fabric outfits, since the materials can become fragile over time. Small details like Lucy’s discolored shoes, the character designs, and the included play accessories show why vintage Peanuts play sets remain interesting collectibles. Even with missing pieces and restoration work, this Deluxe Play Set is a great example of the creativity behind classic Peanuts merchandise.
