After building my first Ensky Peanuts Paper Theater Kit, I was looking forward to making my next one! The kit contains laser-cut paper and a plastic ball for display, plus instructions on how to build the piece. All I needed was my paper crafting glue, a pair of tweezers and an Exacto knife to build this kit.
Difficulty Level
While this kit may be from Japan, the directions were also in English. The diagrams are all I needed to build the kit. Each piece is labeled with numbers and letters to match up with the instructions.
The tiny pieces of paper require a delicate touch, plus patience and organization. Using the Exacto knife to snip the pieces from their surrounding substrate was definitely a must. When building, I found it helpful to stage where the pieces were going. This way I knew exactly where to be gluing and what way the pieces went round. Plus, I found I had to consider where the glue was best put the pieces for this kit. While the glue might dry clear, there can still be a haze from the different sheen, so I was being extra careful when applying the pieces.
This kit was a lot more complex than my first project, but was still a lot of fun. Total time spent was about three hours. This did include some videography and a non-optimized workspace with the instructions setup behind me. If you’re feeling inspired, I recommend checking out Plaza Japan for finding reasonably priced Japanese collectibles.
