For CollectPeanuts.com, I’m always on the lookout for interesting Peanuts merchandise. I came across the Snoopy Grow Toy and wondered just what it was! ICUP, the producer of the toy, sent me a sample to share with my fellow Peanuts fans, plus some other goodies.
According to the package, the 2.25″ Snoopy Grow Toy can grow six times his size in water. It takes a few days for him to absorb the water and grow. I filmed his six day swim for the time lapse video below. I added water a couple times to make sure he had enough.
It’s pretty neat to watch Snoopy grow! I grew up loving those little dissolvable capsules with the foam animals inside of them. This is similar, but takes more time. My final Snoopy grew to about 6″. Snoopy both kept his shape and his coloring throughout the process. After growing, his body is like a stiff rubbery foam. He doesn’t feel damp after the initial drying, but he does slowly seep water due to gravity. Snoopy is starting to slowly shrink down. Once he’s done, I’ll definitely be giving him another try at growing again! If you have kids, this would be a fun activity to share with them. The Snoopy Grow Toy is just $3 at the ICUP website.
ICUP has lots of fun Peanuts products. My favorite is the Snoopy Doghouse can koozie they sent me. My boyfriend is always taking mine, and this is one he’ll know to keep his hands off! ICUP also carries a variety of fun drinkware, including a molded Snoopy head mug. I’ll also be trying out some recipes in their Peanuts ice cube tray and spatula and cookie cutter set.
