Initial Impressions
So far the build has been easy. The pieces are well made and look like the characters. There are some nice details, like making the couch fuzzy. I’m really excited to put this all together and see how it turns out! I love miniatures, so this is right up my alley. The only problem with the set itself is it didn’t include glue when it was clearly used in the instructions. Either the instructions should have been updated to be clear this needed to be purchased separately, or include the glue. It’s frustrating to sit down to a build and not have everything I need.
DeAgostini
The frustration lies with DeAgostini. There are a few options to purchase and upgrades to get. It’s all really confusing. The free gifts are not compelling, except the Snoopy plushy that goes with the doghouse. You can only get this essential plush by using Paypal. As of this writing, it appears they are no longer accepting orders.
I ordered the set on August 4, and my first pieces didn’t arrive until over a month later. There wasn’t a lot of good communication from DeAgostini on how the process is going to go, when things are shipping and what the future expectations are. I tend to check the dashboard every few days to stay on top things. For instance, for the first two stages (package one), I saw that items had shipped, but they were sitting for almost two weeks before being delivered. Now the dashboard shows a delay for the next set of three stages (package two). Oddly, the dashboard also shows a decline marker for package two, but I’ve not declined it and customer service assures me that it’s not canceled.
Package one also contained two of “Stage 2”. Customer service was very quick and sent me the correct “Stage 1” immediately.
Research
From other sites I’ve been able to look at that also sells DeAgostini, I will, fingers-crossed, get five stages every month. There are a total of 130 stages. That’s 25 packages after the initial two packages (Stages 1-5). This should all arrive in a little over two years.
