There’s nothing quite like wandering through a flea market hoping to spot a hidden Peanuts collectible, and this trip definitely delivered. I started at my usual booth, the one that almost always has something waiting for me, and before long I was already finding treasures. A vintage Snoopy puzzle came home with me, while a cracked astronaut Snoopy and a Woodstock friction scooter had to stay behind for another collector. I also came across a tennis Snoopy button, vintage Peanuts books, a Lucy Avon bottle, a Peanuts snapfast model kit, and the Peanuts Jubilee book celebrating the comic strip and Charles Schulz’s life. One of my favorite finds was an Snoopy autograph plush that still had the original spot for the pen.
As I kept exploring, the flea market turned into a parade of Snoopy and Peanuts memorabilia. There were Hallmark ornaments from 1977, Camp Snoopy glasses for just five dollars apiece, Christmas cookie cutters, Pez dispensers, a Snoopy Airblown inflatable, and even a classic Snoopy phone. The number of vintage Peanuts lunchboxes I saw was almost ridiculous, with designs featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy as a Beagle Scout leader, and more. I also spotted a Peppermint Patty rag doll, a Snoopy fishing pole, Avon soaps, a Snoopy wind chime, Charlie Brown mugs, and several vintage Snoopy radios. Not everything came home with me, though. Some prices were too high, and a few items were missing parts or showing too much wear.
The real surprise came at the end when I finally opened the towel I bought almost sight unseen. It turned out to be a beautiful Steven’s Utica towel featuring Snoopy as the Flying Ace on one side and a great “I think I’m becoming allergic to criticism” design on the other. Along with that, I brought home the Snoopy puzzle, the bag of plush clothes, and the autograph Snoopy plush. Flea markets are always a mix of nostalgia, tough decisions, and unexpected discoveries, and this trip was a great reminder of why I love hunting for vintage Peanuts collectibles in the first place.
