Great finds are always in the most unlikely places. Making room in the garage for the upcoming winter, I was getting everything from the latest collection buy into the house. I opened up an overly heavy box labeled “sell”, hoping to empty some of it out. There on top was a square box marked Technicolor. Instantly curious, I opened it. I was not surprised to see reels of film. Forgetting the task at hand, I rushed inside with my find and started peaking at the spool of movie film.
After looking at a few, I guessed what I had was from Snoopy Come Home. One of the pieces was labeled with masking tape with the year 1972. Confirmation came with the largest roll. On it is the opening credits for Snoopy Come Home. However, it’s not the final version they used in the feature film. The rest of the film pieces are various pieces of black and white negatives, color positives and pencil drawings. And then I looked at the side of the box, solving the big mystery. They are cuts from a foreign version of the film. Yet the opening credits reel is in English…the mystery continues!
Sorry for the horrible photos, but you’ll get the idea. Enjoy! View photos…
