Vintage Large Peanuts Woodstock & Snoopy Bone Shaped Tin Case Holder 1999 Rare! – $57. Find it on eBay (affiliate link).
When seeing this Snoopy bone-shaped tin, I thought it was really cute, pricey and I didn’t know too much about it. What I do know is there have been a lot of Peanuts candy containers made over the last 20 years. If there is a way to market candy, pairing it with Snoopy is a great way to sell it. Doghouses, airplanes, purses, tins and fake books all housed starlight mints, dog-bone candy, smarties and gumballs. It wouldn’t be a far leap to assume this held candy.
Then I dug a little deeper. I looked at other eBay listings for similar items. I found 5 other listings of the exact same “Rare” item at time of writing. I also found a different design in the exact same shape tin. They both had their original labels and the tins had contained… dog biscuits. Not so strange for a dog bone shaped tin! There were other non-Peanuts designs for this exact same tin, all dog-themed.
How much is a Snoopy Bone-shaped Tin worth?
Whether it held candy or dog biscuits doesn’t really matter to me and my wallet. I’d expect to pay around $4-8 for this Snoopy bone-shaped tin in mint to excellent condition.
